11/15/2022 - Early Winter

The storm came but only dropped about 1" of snow on us.  The rest of the state got varying amounts, up to 18" out west, but the wind was brutal!  On Thursday, the 10th, we got freezing rain before the snow, so it's still pretty slippery outside. Steve and I went out vole hunting on Friday and Saturday, the snow was the perfect depth for hunting voles.  Since then, we've gotten another 3 inches of fluffy snow.  It's still not heavy or really deep, but Steve's a short dog and he'd get pretty cold hunting for very long in snow up to his tummy.  He's got a bit of an undercoat but nothing that's going to keep him as warm as Walter always stayed.  I've already shoveled snow twice . . . as far as I'm concerned, winter came way too early!!

Cold weather is good for staying in and crocheting though.  I've finished 3 potholders since the last one I posted.  Another nature photo inspired the last one I finished.

I posted this photo of the coulee a couple of years ago . . . the photo of the potholder doesn't do it justice.  The colors are close so I think it's pretty.  IMHO it's much better than the photo.

It's just a potholder but it keeps my hands busy.  My mom would be proud.
